An area of Esholt woods known as Stone Top.

The top picture is the path from the railway bridge at Stone Top down to the Coach Road, it is virtually non existant now, owing to neglect by various owners since the Estate was compulsory purchased from the Stanhope family. The house and barn was sold about four years ago and they were refurbished, the barn being converted into a house. The original house was lived in by a family called Harrison, since the end of the 2nd. World War, and Peter the son who eventually lived on his own died about six years ago. Before this several generations of the Hopwood family had lived in it since the beginning of the 19th. century, running it as a farm. The trees on the bottom picture are to the right of the path going down. The area of Stone Top is actually in Yeadon, it was an extension of Gill Lane at the very bottom in Nether Yeadon, before you came to Esholt.
